Trampoline

Summer shines upon the country.
Cool air fills up the city.
I run past the houses, streets under my feet,
Looking for something.

There it is in the winter night.
Bright as the sun that goes to hide.
I look at this building, the door half open,
Yearning for more than this.

Traffic lights turn green automatically.
Cars wait patiently on the side.
I glide over the road of ice, white over black.
They send me directly inside.

Everyone stares at me. Everyone stops jumping.
In the ground of trampoline.
I’ve got no words to say. I’ve got nothing to prove.
I walk to the edge. I look at the mat.
To the center I jump.

The world sways up and down.
The eyes follow me from the crowd.
I push against gravity, mission of mankind.
Waiting for anybody to join.

There they are around me.
Happy as they’ve always been in this country.
I flip around in the air, even with the world upside down,
To get a glimpse of their perfect outlines.

I push harder. I jump higher.
In the hope of making me stronger.
My sweat splashing. My energy radiating.
I touch the sky. I reach the ground.
Until the moment our gaze meet.

There you are under the spotlight.
Frozen from head to toes except your eyes.
Soiled-blue eyes.
I feel my stomach turning a somersault, heart pounding a gallon blood.
Begging for us to never fall back to the ground.

Everyone is clapping. Everyone is cheering.
I finally make some friends. So I stay.
And with your hands I take.
