Summer Sober

I gulped down all the heat crashing on me.

Slept through all day, waiting for the night to catch my falling body.

I am so tired. But I need all the quiet.

I dare not close my eyes when I feel sober in the deadly summer night.

In fear of the daylight, and a boring, torturing life.

Every conversation leads to the same dead end.

As though nothing will change unless the globe tilts and snow covers our land.

Only then can I get what you have.

So we do not suffer in vain.

———–

Let us exchange.

I drink in the peace and you take the unbearable heat.

I will forget you as soon as I succeed, and leave, just like you ignoring all of the dying people outside your country.

You will forever be the bug and I his family.

Something I do not want to see, but something you need to carry on your tiny little feet.

“I will never forgive whoever skips this."

Type in all the letters so you can see.

Sweat streaks down the wrinkles of pride on a 23-year-old body.

Five seconds later, he fell asleep.

Under the moon of a war devastated valley.
