0. Leaving Hostel River, from the city center
Pinned my name on the map.
Left my phone number on the back.
I would be waiting for you in the future, stranger.
The moment when two rivers cross together.
A confluence of our past pushing our lives into the oceanic spotlight.
Our sedimentary love would last so long.
A beach of six kilometers.

1. 121, Huhtalanraitti
I dropped my name card into your mailbox.
When you caught it, I’d already became a distant little spot.
You locked the door while putting your shoes on.
Hesitated to start the road as you looked back at the front yard.
All summer long, we would be looking for us.
So you hung two wheels on the red wall.
And one bucket of freshly-picked Lobelia on the fence post.
You promised to come back before the leaves started to fall.

2. Standing on Lietteet Luontolava(Lietteet Nature Observation Deck)
I swear you were standing there.
Blonde hair ruffled by the wind like wild flowers.
Broad shoulders sculpted like wings, could take off at any moment.
Everything was within my reach, when you simply vanished.
Into a golden plain of reeds.
As I was standing here.
Waves after waves of your charm crashed on me.
Leaving my sunglasses askew.
Leaving me breathless.

3. Under Sannannokka Luontotorni(Sannannokka Nature Observation Tower)
I closed my eyes when you kissed me in the shade.
I leaned forward and the sun made the whole world red.
My sadness went out of the window and I wished it would never came back.
In perspective the scene was beautiful and defined.
But there had always been only one person in sight.
At some time a book would appear out of nowhere on the sill.
When the boy took it, he viewed it as precious as his one and only life.

4. Walking on the beach
The Bothnian Sea was spinning light webs in the shallow water.
Along the giant sandy curve that stretched six kilometers.
Your ever-changing presence slowly led me to our destination.
Interspesed like footprints amongst lime grass and sand dunes.
A woman with a deckchair at the center of the ocean.
You waved from the distance, then sat down and read our poems.
A mound of dried-up seaweed under the August noon sun.
You were adorned with a pebble smile and feathery ears.
The water gurgled, pleased with its sound.

5. Lying on the beach
Time slipped through my fingers like sand.
We covered each other with it.
Until two sand dunes rose in front of me.
The afternoon turned lazy.
Hazy with feelings we had always dreamed of.
And memories we would like to keep.
The tall grass swayed above me.
At the very peak of my childhood.
I realized what was true happiness.

6. Swimming off the beach
The water’s cold.
It made me forget things.
We waded our way off the shore and dived into the deepness.
Everything became murky underneath.
But gradually, something warm was built up in me.
We freestyled along the coast and then did backstroke.
The sky was so clear.
So did the beads of water on your stomach.
They glittered as the sun smiled right above us.

7. In Kota Pizzeria
Cutting the pepperoni pizza in half.
We savored the crust and cheese of our encounter.
Toasted each other with crystal-clear glasses.
We knew all of this would be kept as a secret.
Well.
I guess I’ll see you around, stranger.
I’ll be hiding somewhere in the forest and the reeds.
Singing our love story in Yyteri.
